How we collect information

Website

When you visit our website, we collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the site, we collect information about the pages or products viewed, which websites or search terms referred you to the site, and information about how you interact with the site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, including how to disable them, visit allaboutcookies.org.
  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the site, and collect data such as your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the site.
  • Google Analytics is used to track how you arrived on the site and how you might be spending your time while on the site.

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through our website, we collect certain information, including your name, billing address, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.” Any payment information you enter, including credit card numbers and PayPal account information, is NOT stored on our site but directed to a third-party system (Stripe or PayPal).

When we refer to “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about both Device Information and Order Information.

Apps

We collect certain Personal Information when you install the following apps:

Navidium Shipping Protection

We collect your store URL, along with your name, email, address, timezone, and location. We also collect any email addresses your customers enter via the app. This allows us to provide the features and functionality of the app, such as tracking protected orders, adding the option to add on protection for those who haven’t, as well as giving you valuable insight as to the success of your claims and protected plans.

Once you’ve uninstalled one of our apps, we may store your data for up to 60 days in order to reach out to gather customer experience and usage feedback, and/or to contact you with promotional and win-back campaigns for a limited period.

How we use information

We use the Order Information we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the site, including processing your payment information and providing you with invoices and order confirmations. Additionally, we use this Order Information to communicate with you; screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and, when in line with the preferences you’ve shared with us, provide you with information or promotional offers relating to our products and services.

We use the Device Information we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address) and more generally to improve and optimize our site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
