Cart & Upsell
Footer
Build out everything below the cart items: notes, shipping protection, discount codes, trust badges, and custom HTML.
General
The Footer section is a stack of independently toggleable blocks that build up everything shown below the product list in the cart drawer. Reorder blocks by dragging their handle in the left-hand list, and turn any block on or off with its own Active/Inactive toggle.
At the top level, set the Text Color and Footer Background Color for the whole footer area, and optionally enable Shopify Accelerated Payments to show express checkout buttons (e.g., Shop Pay, Apple Pay) directly in the footer.
Cart Note
Lets customers attach a note to their order (e.g., gift instructions):
- Note field label
- The link/label customers click to reveal the note field, e.g. "Add an optional note".
- Note placeholder
- Placeholder text shown inside the empty note field, e.g. "Special Instructions".
- Keep Note Box Open Initially
- Show the note field expanded by default instead of collapsed behind the label.
Smart Addons
Smart Addons is a built-in shipping protection upsell — a toggle line item (e.g., "Shipping Protection $2.00") that customers can add to their order for a small fee:
- Make the full widget clickable
- Let customers tap anywhere on the row (not just the toggle) to add the add-on.
- Title
- Name of the add-on, e.g. "Shipping Protection".
- Description (Supports HTML)
- Explanatory text shown with the add-on; accepts basic HTML formatting.
- Show Product Image
- Display an icon or image next to the add-on.
- Shipping widget icon
- Upload a custom icon (.jpg, .png, .gif) to replace the default.
- Price Settings — Percentage
- Charge a fee based on a percentage of the order total.
- Price Settings — Static
- Charge a fixed value regardless of order size.
- Protection Fee (Percentage)
- The percentage rate applied when using Percentage pricing.
- Adjust price
- Rounding behavior for the calculated fee, e.g. "Rounding Up".
- Protection Product
- Browse your catalog to link an existing product that represents the protection fee, or create a new one.
Style controls cover title font size/weight, toggle active color, border radius, and separate colors for the active and inactive states (background, text, and border).
Shipping Info
Shows an estimated shipping line in the footer:
- Label
- Text shown for this row, e.g. "Shipping".
- Sync with Shipping Tier
- Pull the message automatically from your Tiered Bar's shipping tier instead of setting it manually.
- Message
- The value shown next to the label, e.g. "Calculated at checkout".
- Text Color / Font family / Font size / Font weight
- Typography controls for this row.
Discount
A parent block containing three independently toggleable pieces:
- Discount Box
- The input field customers type a code into. Configure the placeholder text, background/border color, border radius, and the Apply button's text, font, colors, hover states, and border radius.
- Discount Code Badge
- How an applied code appears as a removable badge (e.g. "GET5%"). Configure font family/size/weight, text color, and background color.
- Discount Text
- Controls whether a "Total Savings" summary line is shown once a discount is applied.
Subtotal
Shows the running subtotal:
- Button Text
- Supports the {cart_count} variable, e.g. "Subtotal (cart_count) items:".
- Font family / Font size / Font weight / Button Text color
- Typography controls for the subtotal row.
Terms & Conditions
Adds a required or optional consent checkbox before checkout:
- Label
- The checkbox text, e.g. "I Accept Terms and Conditions".
- Label Color
- Text color of the label.
- Link (T&C)
- URL the label text links to, e.g. your terms page.
- Warning Status
- Show a warning-style prompt if the customer tries to check out without accepting.
- Alert Status
- Show a stronger alert-style prompt in the same scenario.
- Font family / Font size / Font weight
- Typography controls for the label.
Checkout & Secondary Buttons
The Checkout Button block controls your primary call-to-action (styling options mirror other buttons throughout the app). The Secondary Button block adds one or two supporting actions below it — View Cart and Continue Shopping — useful for stores that want an explicit way back to browsing instead of relying on customers to close the drawer.
Trust Badge
Displays a row of payment/trust icons (Afterpay, American Express, Apple Pay, Bitcoin, Discover, Klarna, and many more) to reassure customers at checkout:
- Select Trust Badges
- Click any icon in the grid to add it to your footer; selected badges appear under "Selected Trust Badges" and can be removed by clicking them again.
- Upload Custom Badges
- Add your own badge images (.jpg, .png, .gif) if you need a payment method or certification not in the built-in list.
Custom HTML
For anything the built-in blocks don't cover, the Custom HTML block gives you a free-form code editor to insert your own markup at the bottom of the footer — useful for one-off banners, links, or embeds specific to your store.
That's the full Cart Customize tab. Finally, check Display Conditions & Settings to control where this cart is shown.
